Hopi Ear Candling

Hopi ear candling is a useful and gentle therapy for clients that complain of excessive or compacted ear wax. It helps many conditions that affect the head including Sinusitis, Rhinitis, glue ear and congestion from colds, headaches, etc.

The treatment originates from the native North American tribe known as the "Hopi". The candles are not conventional candles that we normally think of but are tube-like, with a point at one end being made from natural cotton linen. The candles are impregnated with honey and therapeutic herbs.

Once the candle has been comfortably inserted into one of the ears, it is ignited. The gentle heat combined with the herbs, creates a chimney affect resulting in the ear wax softening. Impurities are either carried away with the smoke of the candle or deposited in the wax that builds in the nose of the candle. Both ears are treated even if only one is causing a problem, thus ensuring balance is maintained.

Most clients experience a warm comforting sensation and may hear some crackling. Please rest assured the flame is extinguished well before it reaches the ear. The treatment is not invasive unlike syringing, it last about 30 minutes and the rate is £20.00.
